SNIM: Mr. Mohamed Salem BECHIR appointed as Member of the Board & CEO

BechirNouadhibou, August 22, 2016: The Board of Directors of the National Industrial and Mining Company (SNIM) has today appointed Mr. Mohamed Salem BECHIR as Member of the Board & Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

The new Member of the Board & CEO Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould BECHIR (54 years old) was Minister of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines since January 2015, and has been in charge the Department of Water and Sanitation between September 2013 and January 2015. He also worked as General Secretary of some ministries.

Mr. Ahmed Salem BECHIR holds a diploma of engineer in the field of electronic mechanics and graduate certificate specialized in economics and energy policy and has nearly 30 years of experience in the conduct of policy and energy projects.

Mr. Ahmed Salem BECHIR began his career in the National Water and Electricity Company in 1986, where he held various technical positions before being appointed as general manager of the Mauritanian company of electricity between September 2009 and September 2013.
